Intent & Prayer

What is Intent?
When we create an intent, there is a desire to generate change based on a reason or purpose. We need to keep an open mind and fully believe that change is possible. One of the ways this can be accomplished is through repetition of a phrase or statement, like a mantra. Mantras incorporate spiritual practices to connect with various energies. When a mantra includes an intent, we can manifest the desired change.

What is Prayer?
Prayer is the source of energy consciousness for the upper realms (God, an entity, etc.). It is spiritual in its connection to everything. When we pray, it is usually for “an object or benefit”.1 It is typically for a purpose (intent) and the purpose for one’s prayers can be personal, professional or altruistic. Prayer also creates a container to go deeper inside ourselves. Once inside, it becomes a time for reflection. It is through reflection that we can be guided towards creating our desired reality and enact the necessary changes.

Similarities Between Intent & Prayer
Intent and prayer share similar characteristics. When we concentrate, we discover the immense power and energetic strength both intention and prayer have to vibrationally attract a desired outcome. Both methods depend upon an open mind to create a mental space that allows for change of thought or feeling. It is through reflection that we can begin to understand how we create our reality and what we may want to change. When intent and prayer are combined, something very powerful and magical can occur.
