A Less Desirable Reflection

Feeling defeated, looking for revenge or just frustrated by the mirrors of reflection amplifying what not to like about ourselves?  Everything was going along pretty good and then - boom!  Surprise disagreements, chaos and face-to- face conflicts.  It’s prominent everywhere in the world today. Attack and retaliation. Revenge seeking, followed by even harder and more intense attacks.  It’s hard to remain unattached when we desire justice and feel like our integrity and values are at stake. 

This week’s energy is so strong, we may be wishing to just lean into the shadows to hide for refuge. We really don’t want to see the underlying cause and what’s trying to surface.  There is a trigger and a key clue here about the work we must do to gain inner peace and continue the journey of ascension.  We must be brave enough to peek into those shadows and really see what’s there. We may be surprised to find that when we shine the light into the darkness, the demon that we thought we have to fight is also trying to scurry away in fear.

This week may feel heavy but it isn’t all thrown to the wind; this next new moon can assist us with making positive changes. We must be willing to see what isn’t working in order to change. This is a big opportunity to create momentum and upgrade our dreams to what really matters.  There are many ways to approach this, first and foremost recognize that there may be uneasiness around what we need to get rid of. Even if it’s no longer serving us, familiar patterns and behaviours can be difficult to leave. There is a strong sense of wanting to make things right that can help us detach. Along with the feeling of needing to balance the scales of justice.  At the end of the day our old perceptions can turn into harsh and unfair judgements. There are always truths to both sides of a situation, we must be willing to fully see both sides and find the balance. Each person must accept the light and shadow of self and others to truly make a difference. 

I was listening toChristopher Renstrom from Astrology Hub, who was speaking about this week's planetary lineup and what it means to be in a Scorpio new moon. Many astrologers, past and present, reinforce the message that this is a time to monitor our shadow sides. We are being asked to be responsible and keep our attention on how we wish to respond, not allowing ourselves to be triggered by others' portrayals of what’s showing up in the world. This is a time to be focusing on peace and creating peace within. As within - so without.

My own inner peace came after many years of addressing my shadow side through a shamanic lens. I used Reiki to help ease the pain felt in my heart while resolving many shadows lurking in my subconscious.  It is not easy to confront and love the darker sides of ourselves, but we all have them. They are part of the human condition that helps us grow and evolve. When we can love our differences and our whole self, we become unconditional love, the reason we are all here.

The west energy (the element of water) within us is present to help keep us on track with our evolution; to see the lotus flower that arises out of the mud.  We will be facing challenges in the next couple of years, so create beauty, and appreciate the new lightness.  The low vibrating energy will transform into the rising phoenix that will appear after these challenges have been transmuted into higher vibrations through our personal south energy (element of fire). 

This week is just the prelude for what is to come, so be aware and be open to start now.  Whatever this means and whatever course of action is taken, we must do it head on. It is essential to switch our perceptions of lack, victimhood, negativity and limiting beliefs that we have been programmed with from a very young age.  The age of Aquarius is here to create and renew our dreams with clarity and goodness for all.  Toe the line and plant the seeds. Your desires will grow into beauty when it is the best and brightest time to shine.
